About the Job
Do you want to make a difference by providing support in daily life, both inside and outside the home? Here, you will help create a safe, stimulating, and meaningful environment for all residents.
The target group consists of individuals with acquired brain injuries, which requires staff to be attentive and adapt their communication. As a support assistant, your role is to support the tenants' participation and create opportunities for them to influence decisions and interventions.
At Hundraårsgatan, we work based on the individual needs of the users, focusing on care, rehabilitation, and motivational work. The organization is undergoing a transformation process with a focus on clear structures, increased safety, and working towards common goals. The work includes lifting techniques, personal care, activities, cooking, cleaning, and collaboration with health and medical care. You will also encourage leisure activities and create conditions for enriching free time based on the tenants' interests.
The work involves collaboration with guardians, social workers, relatives, health and medical staff, as well as social documentation and medication management according to delegation. By following implementation plans, we ensure that the tenants' needs are prioritized. Your role also includes motivating and empowering tenants in their daily lives, which may involve helping them connect with contacts outside their home.
We value a rehabilitative and motivating approach, as well as the ability to collaborate in interdisciplinary teams.
To succeed in this role, you need to have empathy, respect, and a genuine interest in seeing the person behind the disability, as well as understanding your mission to support and motivate the tenant based on their abilities and circumstances.
The working hours at the residence are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts. Awake nights occur in the organization, but this recruitment only concerns positions for day, evening, and weekend shifts. The residence uses Time Care Planning to create flexible and operationally adapted schedules.
We are looking for two employees for work during the day, evening, and weekends.
About You
We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The courses should be in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
Communication is an important part of the job, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit. It is a requirement that you have knowledge of low-arousal approach (LAB) and alternative augmentative communication (AAC).
Experience in care and support, as well as work with the target group of acquired brain injury, is meritorious. Good knowledge of pedagogy and the ability to adapt support based on individual needs, as well as good computer skills and knowledge of social documentation, are also meritorious.
To succeed in this role, you must be friendly, helpful, and respectful towards others, even in stressful situations. You are attentive to others' needs and feelings, and show care in your interactions. You work well with others by listening and collaborating to achieve common goals. In pressured situations, you remain calm and make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.
