We are looking for new colleagues for the summer who want to support people in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home.

You will work at one of our group homes with special services in central Hisingen, where tenants with autism and intellectual disabilities reside. Challenging behavior may occur.

The work at the BmSS residence involves tasks such as educational support in daily life, personal care, and common household tasks such as laundry and cooking. The job includes a lot of outdoor time, as our tenants enjoy being outside, walking, and engaging in outdoor activities.

Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We assume that you, as a prospective summer employee, have the opportunity to work at least days, evenings, and weekends on the schedule for most of the summer.

We also have sleeping on-call shifts at one facility, which means you work afternoons/evenings, sleep over, work mornings, and then end your shift. Therefore, we would appreciate your availability for these shifts as well.

Qualifications

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for a position with us, in accordance with regulations regarding minors' working environment (AFS 2023:2).

As communication is an important part of the job and the ability to document is necessary, you need to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

It is an advantage if you have completed or started a support assistant training, the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or educational work, the Health and Care Program, or other education in health and care.

Furthermore, previous work experience in health and care, and/or with the target group is also advantageous. Knowledge and experience of the following methods are also meritorious: LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), Clear Pedagogy, and Sign Language Support.

We would also prefer that you have a B driver's license and driving experience, as the work involves a lot of outdoor activities.

You remain calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-informed decisions despite time pressure.
