Student Coordinator at Ale Municipality
We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the Ale of tomorrow. With us, you will deliver services of the highest quality to the residents of Ale. Together, 2,500 employees create an Ale that focuses on the needs of its citizens. Become one of us!
About the Workplace
Ale Municipality is intensifying its efforts in 2026 to strengthen safety, study environment, and school attendance in our secondary schools.
With extensive experience in school social initiatives, we are now taking the next step and developing new methods to better meet students at risk of unfavorable development. Therefore, we are looking for two new employees, one placed at Bohusskolan and one at Da Vinciskolan. This initiative is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start, influence the direction, and contribute to solutions that make a real difference for students in grades 7–9. As part of our ongoing development work, you will have significant freedom to shape methods together with the principal and other professionals in student health while also helping to build a sustainable long-term structure for our students in Ale.
Job Responsibilities
As a student coordinator, you will be a vital person for students' development and well-being. You will be supervised by the principal at the school where you are placed. You will build trusting relationships and work preventively to create safety and a conducive study environment. You may need to reach out to students at risk of unfavorable development, so you must have a genuine commitment to students and be skilled at building relationships. Through motivational conversations, you will help students find structure and balance in their daily lives, which may also involve supporting students in challenging social situations. Together with the school's student health team and sometimes social services, you will create solutions that make a real difference for children and youth.
Qualifications
We are looking for an engaged and proactive student coordinator with a strong drive to contribute to safety, study environment, and good learning environments. The role requires experience working with children and youth as well as their guardians, preferably from both school and social services. A student democratic approach and the ability to work inclusively and collaboratively are central.
The position requires post-secondary education equivalent to at least YH level in educational or social work – for example, as a teacher, social worker, or social pedagogue. A degree at the university level is an advantage.
The ability to build and maintain professional relationships, combine clarity with warmth, and use digital tools consciously are important aspects of the role. Documented experience in similar work is considered an asset.
We are looking for a person who takes initiative, leads and drives processes together with colleagues and management, and continuously evaluates and develops working methods. A reflective and professional approach, confidence in the professional role, and the ability to organize work to promote a conducive study environment throughout the school day are crucial.
If you want to help create a school where every student has the opportunity to succeed, we look forward to your application.
