You must have a very good understanding that your contribution is crucial for my life to function in the best possible way. You have knowledge of what the profession entails and that it also comes with various challenges at times. Everyone has the right to and wants to live their life to the fullest, despite certain obstacles and difficulties. Can you offer me safe and secure assistance as well as a good and joyful life? Are you kind, self-assured, and have a very good work ethic? If you answered yes to these questions, then maybe you are the one we are looking for!

Start date according to agreement. You will start with an introductory schedule and then be offered a position of about 70-75% with your own schedule. I have been granted assistance around the clock and during the night, it is WAKE assistance.

If you have any preferences regarding working hours, we would like you to write them in your application. You are also welcome to mention any vacation requests, thank you! During the summer from June to August, we have a summer schedule.

When vacant shifts occur, there is an opportunity to work more.

Unfortunately, I cannot hire anyone who is allergic to pets or uses tobacco. This also includes substitutes such as white snus and e-cigarettes.

It is about as difficult for me to briefly summarize this position as I believe it is for you to make a complete presentation of yourself in a letter. This is because the job as someone’s personal assistant is based on the person’s life and as you hopefully understand, my life is as diverse as yours. Still, I will try to explain who I and my friends/assistants are looking for...

This is what the shifts look like with me: Full days from 08:00 to 20:00, morning shifts 5–7 hours, and afternoon shifts 5–6 hours. The wake night shifts are 12 hours, from 20:00 to 08:00. During night shifts, it is very important that you have a good understanding and insight into what this entails. You should have an easy time switching your day and be able to sleep during the day to come to me fresh and rested in the evening. If you do not have previous experience with night work, you are of course also welcome to apply, just remember that a night job does not mean that your day has 24 hours. Rest, sleep, and recovery are very important when working night shifts.

The introduction always starts with day shifts with me, regardless of what schedule my assistants have. This way we get to know each other properly and you learn as much as possible about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends/assistants. Everyone should be able to cooperate.

You who are applying should be self-sufficient and confident in yourself. You master Swedish fluently in speech and writing, and you are also swimming proficient. We also assume that you can handle regular household chores and can help and support me in my daily life.

It is not a requirement that you have previous experience as a personal assistant, although it is considered an advantage. Your attitude and understanding of the profession and what it means to be my personal assistant are the most important. A position as my personal assistant involves, among other things, commitment, self-drive, great patience, a friendly approach, flexibility, and good teamwork skills. We place great importance on personal suitability. Building a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for someone who truly wants to do their best for me by getting to know me and understands that it is the key to success.

It may sound harsh, but my requirement is that you who are applying are driven and responsible but also come with your own initiatives regardless of my daily condition. It can vary greatly how much I can manage due to my severe epilepsy, and therefore you should be able to take your own initiatives and be flexible when plans need to be changed. My interests vary a bit depending on the season. In the summer, I love to swim in my pool, it is truly a favorite. I also enjoy everything from cooking & running with my marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts, and the gym to give you some clues.

A position as a personal assistant is varied, but with me, you can think that your role consists of three parts;

1. You help me with all basic needs with great respect for privacy and dignity.

2. You are my physical support, which means that it is an advantage for you if you care about your health and enjoy exercising in your spare time.

3. You are my engine in everyday life and together with your colleague are responsible for planning activities and routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be permeated by the fact that you are my friend because that is how cooperation works best and how I want to be treated. I turned 20 a few years ago. My group of friends is therefore quite young, they are all in their 20s to 30s (20-30 years). My life swings quickly, so my friends always need to be rested, patient, and willing to give of themselves regardless of the conditions I have or obstacles I encounter in everyday life. They are my friends and see me for who I am behind my difficulties, and I want to complement that with someone who thinks the same and does not see me as their patient. I require a high work ethic, which for you as an applicant means that you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also kind and calm and understand that your contribution is vital for me; your understanding of flexibility and variation in my life creates the best conditions for both of us. Finally, and perhaps most importantly; you need to have a very large understanding that my life is different and comes with various challenges.
