Description

The Central Student Health is an operation within the Child and Education Administration (BUF) in Rättvik municipality.

We provide support to preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, high schools, and adapted high schools. Within the Central Student Health, different professional groups collaborate to promote children's and students' learning, development, and health, with a special focus on children and students in need of special support. The Student Health offers medical, psychological, psychosocial, and special educational interventions.

Guidance/consultation and further education are offered to all staff categories within preschool and school.

Job Description

Your employment will be in the Central Student Health but placed at the schools where you will also participate in student health teams. As a counselor, you will work with preventive and health-promoting measures together with special educators, psychologists, speech therapists, school nurses, and school doctors.

You will be involved in developing student health work in collaboration with principals at the school, group, and individual levels. One of the tasks is to support the principals in creating conditions for teachers, the combined student health team, and other school staff to meet students' varying conditions and needs in an inclusive manner.

You will, at the principal's request, investigate and assess the social and psychosocial situation of individual students before decisions on special support and before admission to primary and adapted primary schools. The assignment also includes guidance and consultation to school staff and working groups in the municipality's preschools and schools.

Your assignment also includes assisting school staff in the promoting, preventive, and remedial work to increase school attendance.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker. As a person, you are structured, have good collaborative skills, and have a pedagogical approach. You create good relationships with students and guardians. We expect you to have previous experience with students with functional variations. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Since communication and documentation are part of the assignment, it is required that you have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You need to have a driver's license to reach all operations in our vast municipality.

Selection and interviews may take place continuously. An extract from the police's criminal record, according to the Education Act, must be presented at a possible interview.
