Description

We in the Social Services for Individuals and Families are looking for a new colleague for our group that works with adults in need of support and interventions from social services.

If you are an experienced social worker with knowledge of authority exercise within social services, this is an exciting and developing job for you. In Orsa, the entire social services for individuals and families is organized in one unit, which facilitates close cooperation with the client in focus.

We have close collaboration with the municipality's AME activities and other external partners, e.g., within the region. Orsa is a small municipality, which makes our collaborative work in various forms important to us, and we continuously work to develop this.

Responsibilities

The work involves having a strong interest in people living in socially vulnerable situations. Our goal is to ensure that residents of Orsa Municipality who need interventions are offered support that leads to change.

The position involves conducting investigations and interventions within the authority exercise of social services. You will work with individuals who need support due to harmful use/dependency and financial assistance. This means that you, together with others in the adult group, will provide adequate support to the target group. You will also work with implementation and follow-up of interventions within social psychiatry.

There is often a significant need for coordination of interventions from the municipality, region, and other services. For the individual in contact with IFO, it is not uncommon to encounter complex issues such as mental or physical health problems, dependency, or other difficulties. This requires you to have an interest in working from a holistic perspective around the individual, motivating and initiating collaboration based on the individual's needs.

The adult group also includes working with adults who may be or are victims of violence in close relationships. Assessing the need for interventions, including using risk assessment tools (SARA, FREDA, Patriarch) and following up on approved interventions.

In this position, you will also be expected to work with colleagues on method development in the area. Working with authority exercise within social services requires continuous development work to keep up with changes in legislation and societal changes that affect our work and need to be adapted with new methods and approaches.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in social work with individuals facing problematic life situations, which may be caused by financial problems, violence, criminality, mental health issues, or dependency problems. You are expected to have good knowledge and interest in relevant legislation, as this is a significant part of daily work.

The work requires good documentation skills, preferably in the Life Care system, and a valid driver's license (B).

You are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work while being flexible and able to see opportunities in changes. It is important for us that you have a good ability to work both in a team and independently.

The role of authority exercise and decision-maker means that it is important to be clear while maintaining trust and relationships with clients. To enable change in the individual's life situation, it is essential that your approach is dignified and respectful, even if the situation is sometimes perceived as stressful.

The social services sector includes elderly care with special housing and home care, special care for individuals with disabilities, the social services for individuals and families (IFO), the labor market unit (AME), and the nutrition unit.

The social services for individuals and families work with support and advice for children, youth, and their families, individuals with dependency issues, financial assistance, and certain interventions for individuals with mental disabilities.
