Business and Workplace Description

The unit for domestic violence is part of IFO-Adult Support at the Employment and Social Services in Falun. Currently, we have four social workers, five advisors, a team leader, and a unit manager working with us. Our workplace is centrally located in Falun in nice premises.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker with us, you will meet both victims of violence and perpetrators. The work involves conducting risk assessments, establishing and following up on risk management plans, as well as assessing needs, making decisions, and ensuring that decisions are followed up. You will also be responsible for documentation and follow-up of decisions and any protective placements. The work entails close collaboration with other services within social services, as well as with the region, police, women's shelters, and other relevant actors.

In the unit, we work in close cooperation between advisors, implementers, and social workers. The new social services act creates conditions for early interventions, strengthened collaboration, and a more proactive approach. This means that the unit will have a more outward-facing working method, where certain parts of the job may involve meeting and informing community residents and partners in various contexts.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

  • Degree in social work
  • Experience in public authority work within social services
  • Driver's license (B)

Personal Qualities

In the role of social worker with us, you need to be secure, stable, and have a good ability to build trusting relationships with both victims of violence and perpetrators. You have a professional and respectful approach, even in situations that may be emotionally difficult or complex. Since the work involves public authority functions, risk assessments, and protective placements, it is important that you have a good ability to make decisions even under time pressure and when circumstances change rapidly.

You work in a structured manner and find it easy to organize and prioritize your work, while also being flexible and able to adapt to both the client's needs and the unit's development work. The role requires you to be collaborative and enjoy working closely with both internal and external actors. You actively contribute to an open and learning work environment where colleagues support each other and share knowledge.

As the unit will work more outwardly in the future, it is also valuable that you feel comfortable meeting community residents in various contexts and can represent the organization in an engaged and professional manner. You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and are meticulous in your documentation.
