Coordinator for HVB Home in Idkerberget
The Unit for Social Interventions for Children and Youth (ESI) is organized under the Individual and Family Care (IFO), which is part of the Social and Labor Market Administration and belongs to the Social and Labor Market Committee. IFO consists of four units, where ESI Children and Youth is one of the units.
The Unit for Social Interventions for Children and Youth is primarily responsible for interventions aimed at children, youth, and their families. The unit currently operates two youth homes, Kompassen and Talgoxen. Kompassen is a treatment home for youth with NPF and social difficulties. Talgoxen is a support home for youth. Furthermore, the unit is responsible for IFO's open care provided to families, children, and youth, where family therapists work.
The unit strives to meet individual needs and provide quality care.
IFO aims for a cohesive care chain and has good opportunities for this through its own open care for both youth and adults.
The main goal for the placement is that the youth, after the placement ends, will become self-sufficient, have their own housing, and a good social life.
Our values surely attract you!
- I am here for the residents of Borlänge
- I like challenges
- I meet every person with openness
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Borlänge municipality, in collaboration with other municipalities in Dalarna, will start an HVB home located in Idkerberget. The target group is young men and women as well as non-binary individuals aged 16 to 20 years who are suspected of having comorbidity in the form of risky use, harmful use, or dependency issues in combination with neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or other mental health issues.
As a coordinator, you will be present at the home during weekdays.
You will oversee the operations and have the responsibility for admissions and discharges for all youth at the home. You are responsible for gathering information from caseworkers prior to a potential placement to match youth to the home. You will handle administration and planning in the daily operations, such as quality assurance of documentation and scheduling. You collaborate with staffing to meet our substitute needs, both for individual shifts and longer substitutes.
You will lead and guide together with the treatment responsible, the staff of eight employees, in the daily work and serve as the person who has an overarching perspective on the entire operation. Involving staff in decisions regarding the home and the youth comes naturally to you while you mentor them with a warm hand.
As a coordinator, you are the face towards the placing authority and other partners.
Working in the role of coordinator means being involved in a variety of tasks, where no day is the same, where you need to think both long-term and act here and now. Being flexible is a prerequisite, as well as being able to juggle many tasks simultaneously and prioritize.
You will be part of a network together with coordinator colleagues and management but also in the leadership team for all of ESI.
Initially, you may work at another municipal HVB while waiting for the operation to open.
QUALIFICATIONS
You are an educated social worker or have another higher education degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. We also see that you have experience working with the described target group. Familiarity with administration and documentation is also a requirement. If you have training in BBIC and are familiar with various operational systems such as Viva, Lifecare, and Heroma, that is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish, good knowledge of English, and a valid driver's license B are required.
Having some form of leadership training is considered meritorious.
Training in MI and experience with therapeutic environmental approaches and low-arousal methods as well as within NPF are meritorious as they are part of daily work. If you have worked in another service provider or at an authority, we see it as a valuable merit.
As a person, you are solution-focused and always keep the needs of the youth in focus. You are structured and can plan both short- and long-term to ensure that the operation meets its goals for each client. You are proactive and curious, which means you can think outside the box to find solutions. You are also responsible and independent in your work.
Building relationships with others comes naturally to you. Collaboration and teamwork are something you strive for in every meeting with colleagues, staff, clients, and authorities. Being flexible and adapting to changes in the operation is seen as a natural part of you and your work approach. You understand the importance of communicating around decisions and various solutions.
OTHER
In connection with the interview, you as a candidate must provide proof of citizenship in Sweden/EU/EES or a valid work residence permit.
