Unit for Social Interventions Children and Youth (ESI)

The Unit for Social Interventions Children and Youth (ESI) is organized under Individual and Family Care (IFO), which is part of the Social and Labor Market Administration and belongs to the Social and Labor Market Committee. IFO consists of four units, with ESI Children and Youth being one of them.

The Unit for Social Interventions Children and Youth primarily focuses on interventions aimed at children, youth, and their families. The unit currently operates two youth accommodations, which are Kompassen and Talgoxen. Kompassen is a treatment home for youth with neuropsychiatric disorders and social difficulties. Talgoxen is a support accommodation for youth. Furthermore, the unit is responsible for IFO's open care services directed towards families, children, and youth, where family therapists are employed.

The unit strives to meet individual needs and provide quality care.

IFO aims for a cohesive care chain and has good opportunities for this through its own open care services for both youth and adults.

The primary goal of the placement is for the youth, after the placement ends, to become self-sufficient, obtain their own housing, and have a good social life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Borlänge Municipality, in collaboration with other municipalities in Dalarna, will start a residential care home located in Idkerberget. The target group is young men and women, as well as non-binary individuals aged 16 to 20, where there is a suspicion of comorbidity in the form of risk use, harmful use, or dependency issues combined with neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or other mental health issues.

You are responsible for ensuring that the treatment at the residential care home is conducted in a meaningful way for the youth, based on good care ethics and evidence-based methods.

You, together with the coordinator, will lead and supervise the staff of eight in their daily work.

You are also responsible for creating a safe environment that promotes change work through a milieu therapeutic approach and a low-arousal response.

Initially, work at another municipal residential care home may occur while waiting for the operation to open.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a social worker, behavioral scientist, or has another higher education that the employer deems relevant, as well as training in step 1 CBT and MI. Additional requirements include experience working with the target group.

Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish and a valid driver's license B are required.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with low-arousal responses and milieu therapeutic approaches, as well as working process-oriented with evidence-based methods. Previous experience in conducting treatment activities for youth and/or leadership positions within residential care is also meritorious.

As a person, you always keep the needs of the youth in focus. You are structured and can plan both short- and long-term to ensure that the operation meets its goals for each client. You are proactive and curious, which means you can think outside the box to find solutions, and you have the ability to inspire and instill courage in the workgroup when the work is challenging.

Being flexible and adapting to changes in the operation is a natural part of you and your working style. You understand the importance of communicating about decisions and various solutions.
