Addiction Therapist at the Forensic Psychiatric Clinic (RPK) in Säter Job Responsibilities

The Treatment and Operations Follow-up team works with long-term treatment contacts for patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The group currently consists of psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, addiction therapists, patient safety coordinators (SSK), and a unit manager (licensed psychologist & licensed psychotherapist). The team works closely with the medical team and ward staff, aiming to build skills in patients for a sustainable and functional life. The team is driven and collaborative, and you will be introduced to the forensic psychiatric environment by open and supportive colleagues, several of whom have relocated to the region for this work. Treatment is conducted both individually and through cross-role collaborations.

In the addiction therapist role, you will engage in individual and group treatments, as well as participate in risk and personal assessments. You will also have a supervisory and educational role based on your expertise, both internally within the team and directed towards the clinic's wards. The patient-centered work is largely relationship-building as the lengths of stay are often long, and both needs and treatment opportunities frequently vary over time. RPK Säter is currently in a development phase focusing on a more active and evidence-based treatment approach, with addiction treatment being a particular focus area. Development work is also ongoing for a more structured care process with expanded methodological breadth and enhanced quality monitoring. As an addiction therapist, you are expected to contribute to this development process and to shape the team's work according to the complex needs of the patient group. Opportunities also exist within Region Dalarna for continuous education and clinic-related research.
