Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you will work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool environment. You will lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö City have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

In various ways, you will drive the development of inspiring play and learning environments both indoors and outdoors based on the children's needs and interests. In your role as a preschool teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementation, and management of the educational activities in collaboration with competent and engaged colleagues. Together with all educators at the preschool, you will run the operations in accordance with the curriculum, school law, and local plans. Together, we make this a preschool that all children, guardians, and educators attend with joy.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in preschool education. We want you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

About the Workplace

Tors Preschool is located in the expanding Hyllievång in new, well-planned, and pleasant premises. The immediate environment offers beautiful green areas with several playgrounds.

The preschool has nice, fresh premises with four departments, distributed over two floors. At Tors Preschool, we offer changing environments based on the children's needs and interests.

On the ground floor, there are two departments for the youngest children, and on the second floor, there are departments for the older children, as well as two shared studios where creativity and exploration are in focus.

The outdoor environment invites physical movement through play. We also explore our nearby areas with the help of our cargo bikes and bus strollers.

We have a project-based working method that means we, together with the children, curiously delve into the various areas of the curriculum using aesthetic expressions. We place great emphasis on language development, where books are a natural part. At the preschool, we have a shared library.

We consciously adapt the education to divide the children into smaller groups. This is to give them opportunities to express their thoughts and opinions. They participate in driving projects, investigating, exploring, and participating in democratic processes.

The learning environments are adapted to the children's thoughts, maturity, and interests, and time is given for joyful play and learning.
