University Lecturer in Communication

About the Position
We are now seeking a university lecturer for a fixed-term part-time position at the Department of Communication and the Faculty of Social Sciences' overarching methodology courses.

Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities include course management, teaching, supervision, and examination at both undergraduate and advanced levels in courses within the Department of Communication as well as faculty-wide courses in social science methodology as outlined below.
- Course management, teaching, and examination in English for the course Social Science: Document Research, SIMM59, advanced level
- Supervision and examination of master's theses in English for the master's program in Media and Communication Studies, MKVM13
- Teaching and examination in Swedish for the sub-course on media audiences and media use in everyday life in the undergraduate course in Media and Communication Studies, MKVA14
Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:
- PhD in Media and Communication Studies or Sociology
- Experience in teaching social science methodology courses at the advanced level
- Experience in supervising and examining theses in Media and Communication Studies, Sociology, and/or Social Anthropology
- Experience in course management
- Experience in teaching in English and Swedish, as well as very good proficiency in both languages
- Higher education pedagogical courses of at least 2 weeks/3 credits
Meritorious for the position are:
- Very good knowledge of social science document analysis
- Good knowledge of and experience with ethnographic methods and their application in Media and Communication Studies
- Good knowledge of media use in everyday life
- Attention to detail, well-developed collaboration skills, and the ability to work in an organized and structured manner
- Experience in teaching the courses relevant to the position

The position is a fixed-term appointment starting March 1 or by agreement and extends until July 1, 2026. The position's scope is 41% of full-time.
The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading knowledge centers for research and education in social and behavioral sciences.
