Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to be a part of us at Glasbruksskolan and who wants to work in the important role of a student assistant! As a student assistant with us, you will work closely with the responsible primary school teacher. You will work with one or more students in a middle school class who need extra support to keep up with the teaching. This may involve helping students with reading and writing difficulties, concentration problems, psychosocial difficulties, and/or various types of disabilities. Therefore, your main tasks will involve helping the student(s) to follow along in the lessons and assisting them in finding peace in their studies. In addition, your tasks may also include helping the student(s) practice various everyday tasks, providing support during breaks, in changing rooms, on excursions, and in after-school care.

Qualifications

You who are applying have completed upper secondary education, and if it is from the child and leisure program, we see it as an advantage. You have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and youth. Previous experience working in primary school with students who need special support is required. You also have experience and knowledge of working with children with diabetes. We would like you to have a good understanding of the school curriculum and other documents that govern the school's operations. We also see that you have knowledge of how different disabilities affect a student's learning and how to best compensate for these. Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Glasbruksskolan is a F-6 school with 80 dedicated staff members and 550 students. The after-school care is integrated with the school. In the autumn term of 2016, Glasbruksskolan opened at Glasbrukskajen in Limhamn. The school is located down by the quay at the corner of Barlastgatan and Magasinsgatan. The school's proximity to Ribersborg Beach with its unique nature of sea and large green areas provides our students with great opportunities for varied learning environments.
