Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a licensed special teacher with experience in intellectual disabilities who wants to become part of Tygelsjö School's Adapted Primary School. The position is primarily focused on grades F-6, but some teaching may occur in other subjects.
As a special teacher, you will work together with the rest of the team to create a good educational environment with the goal that all students will achieve their goals, feel good, and develop based on their conditions. You will work in an environment where practical and theoretical elements are combined based on the students' needs. You will actively engage in promoting and preventing safety work.
The students often have an intellectual disability diagnosis along with other diagnoses, both within NPF and medical, and therefore it is important to work with clear structure and accessible learning environments.
We work for the best school for each student, and based on the curriculum and governing documents, we together create a safe environment in both the school and the after-school program aimed at strengthening all students in both their knowledge development and personal development while providing them with a meaningful leisure time. Together we create an operation that meets our students and guardians in the best way.
Examples of job responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching
- Provide mentorship to students
- Lead/participate in meetings with guardians and other internal and external contacts
- Collaborate with other staff within the unit (teachers and student assistants) and in the student health team
- Lead/participate in work with action programs and pedagogical assessments
- Collaborate and guide other staff
Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed special teacher focused on intellectual disabilities with experience working in adapted primary schools. You have good insight and knowledge of the governing documents of adapted primary schools and have a good ability to apply them in daily work. You believe that collaborative work is a fundamental prerequisite for the operation to reach as far as possible, both at the group level and individual level, for both students and staff.
You have good didactic and pedagogical competence that allows you to independently lead and organize your work to create a safe and stimulating learning environment. You have an inclusive approach and you see both the student group and the individual needs of students. Building good relationships with guardians, students, and colleagues is natural for you.
Welcome with your application!
