Håslövs Byaskola is a small independent primary school in Vellinge municipality with about 55-60 students aged 6-12 years.

As substitute school staff, you are a pedagogical support in a class or to individual students and work under the school's teachers who drive the education. If you step in as a teacher substitute, you will receive a prepared plan for the current day.

Your main tasks include supporting students during the school day. You work supportively and inclusively for all students, even if you are directed towards 1-2 specific students, based on the school's values, and collaborate with teachers and other staff in the daily work. You should also be able to take a small group of children who have their tasks and help them in certain subjects.

Substituting in after-school care may occur as needed, as well as in a teaching role if someone is sick; in after-school care, you should be with the children both outdoors and indoors. We work towards set goals according to the curriculum, and sometimes you may need to start as early as 7:30 or finish at 5 PM depending on who is sick. A good attitude towards both children and adults is crucial.

Who are you? A leisure educator, childcare worker, preschool teacher, or another type of student resource? We believe you have worked with children with special needs, ADHD, language disorders, etc., and have significant experience in this.

We believe you are proficient in Swedish in both speech and writing. You should be comfortable with IT usage as we are digital in most things at school, including the Tyra app and Google Drive. You are clear in your leadership, have experience working with children with special needs and ADHD. You should build trust between yourself and the student involved, following them throughout the day. The current class will be in grades F-1 or 2-3. A B driver's license is required as we sometimes need someone to drive our 9-seater bus with students.

We are looking for someone with at least a high school education and experience working as a student assistant or personal assistant, as well as in after-school care. We would prefer you to have experience working with students in need of special support (ADHD), and it is a merit if you have the TEACCH method or other relevant experience.

TEACCH stands for Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children; an American habilitation program that is commonly referred to as structured teaching in Swedish.

You are a secure adult and a good role model for other students around you. You also have the ability to connect with students and help them during potential conflicts. Low-affect responses are preferred. You understand positive reinforcement but can also set boundaries when necessary. You see each individual and create a safe environment in the school, collaborating with others to achieve set goals. You can communicate both positive and less positive matters to parents when necessary.

We highly value high availability and presence, and you should be able to be on-site even if contacted in the morning, as your work will be an important cog in the team for the specific student.

Other: The position is a need-based employment where you step in when regular staff are sick. However, you will never work during school holidays, bridge days, etc.

Education/experience with children with ADHD/ASD is paid at an hourly rate of 175 + vacation. References will be taken.
