Special Educator at Malmö Citadellsgymnasium

Malmö Citadellsgymnasium is expanding its student health team with an additional special educator. We are looking for a special educator with a strong commitment to students' learning, health, and development.

Responsibilities

The special educator's mission is to assist the school with special pedagogical expertise at all organizational levels and to contribute to school development. The mission includes working for a well-functioning student health service to support students' development towards the educational goals. The main tasks are to:

• Map students' and groups' needs
• Analyze the school's work in relation to student learning
• Plan, implement, and evaluate interventions
• Coordinate the work with transitions for students starting and leaving the school
• Actively participate in pedagogical research and use and disseminate research findings and methods to strengthen student learning
• Guide and train pedagogical staff and student assistants
• Participate in the schools' student health teams
• Participate in the school's systematic quality work
• Participate in the cross-administrative network for special pedagogical improvement work
• Document in Prorenata

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Degree in preschool education, teaching, or leisure pedagogy and additional training as a special educator (300 credits)
• Experience working with children and youth with disabilities
• Experience working in vocational programs within upper secondary school
• Familiarity with external contacts and collaboration with staff, students, guardians, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, and social services.
• Good digital competence
• Good insight into the school's goals and governing documents
• Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious:

• Good experience collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks.

As a special educator, you handle complex issues and find sustainable pedagogical solutions. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your working methods to different needs. You are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and use new information to develop teaching. Through a relational and inclusive approach, you build trust and collaboration with students, colleagues, and other professionals. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
