Circle Leader in My Choice

We are now looking for circle leaders in My Choice at SV Lundabygden. This means that as a circle leader, you will meet participants with functional variations in daily activities in the municipalities where we operate: Burlöv, Kävlinge, Lomma, Lund, and Staffanstorp. Experience in the field of functional rights is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We place great importance on personal suitability as it is crucial to be attentive and inclusive. You need to have the ability to create a safe environment and be able to meet and invite the participants. It is important that you lead the circle impartially and do not favor any of the parties. We will introduce and train you in the pedagogy of folk education together with other circle leaders.

My Choice is a method that makes voting and politics accessible for people with intellectual disabilities. It is based on a study circle with easy-to-read information about how our democracy works and is structured. The method has been developed in collaboration with the National Association FUB and Inre Ringen, FUB's section for members with intellectual disabilities. The method includes an easy-to-understand election discussion where politicians answer participants' questions.

The study circle My Choice aims to increase the willingness and knowledge of participants to influence by participating in general elections. The goal is also for participants to dare to express their opinions and make informed choices for their own everyday lives and lives. SV conducts My Choice nationwide, but this application only applies to the municipalities of Burlöv, Kävlinge, Lomma, Lund, and Staffanstorp.

The study circles are led by circle leaders who are responsible for the democratic process. The guidance material contains concrete tips for the circle leader and the study circle. The first part deals with preparations, the role of the circle leader, and pedagogical tips. The second part consists of the same study material that the participants receive, but each meeting has a cover sheet with guidance instructions for the circle leader.

Your Main Task

• Follow the study plan that exists for the study circle while being able to meet the participants and their conditions with engagement and attentiveness.

We place great importance on personal suitability. You need to be able to spread your enthusiasm while adapting your activities to the participants' wishes and conditions.

Meritorious

Circle leader training or equivalent pedagogical competence and experience is meritorious. Experience working with people with functional variations is also an advantage.

Scope of Employment

Hourly employment according to agreement, covering between 1-5 activity sessions of 2 hours per month. There may also be opportunities for assignments in other parts of our folk education activities.
