Emiliaskolan, Höörs Waldorf School, has been around for 35 years. We are within cycling distance from Höör station, in a picturesque location with the forest at our doorstep. We have one class per grade with a maximum of 24 students per class, and our own after-school care in the building. The preschool Lill-Emilia is also located in the village. We are now looking for a teacher for our preschool class starting in August.
We offer:
Emiliaskolan is characterized by a holistic view of the students aimed at developing the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Some features that distinguish our pedagogy are that we work with thematic periods, prioritize creative activities such as art, crafts, and music, and often utilize the beautiful forest right outside our doors.
Our six-year-olds are in a group of no more than twelve students, encounter a stimulating environment, and spend a lot of time outdoors every day. This allows for free play and personal exploration, which strengthens both the individual and social interaction. At the same time, linguistic and mathematical skills are trained in a playful manner. As a teacher, you show the way and create a predictable rhythm for both the day and the school year.
The position is a permanent employment that begins with a probationary period, starting in conjunction with the autumn term. The scope is approximately 80%.
We have a collective agreement and offer wellness benefits, and as a new teacher, you will receive a mentor for support.
We are looking for:
We are primarily looking for someone who is a certified teacher with qualifications to teach in preschool, and preferably has previous experience working in similar roles. You have good knowledge of the curriculum and governing documents and work systematically based on these with a professional approach. We expect you to be familiar with Waldorf education and want to teach based on this.
You are confident in your teaching role and work independently, but can be flexible and assist your colleagues when needed. We also want you to share our holistic view of student development, where we strive for thought, feeling, and will to be equally valued. This means, for example, valuing all students' unique conditions and planning teaching based on where the students are. We also expect you, in collaboration with your colleagues, to contribute to developing and improving both your teaching and the school as a whole.
Application:
Please send your application with a CV and cover letter to our administrative manager Johanna Hanell at [email protected] by February 22. Selection is ongoing. If you have questions, you can email them to the same address. Please note that we have winter break in week eight, so if you contact us during this time, it may take a little while before you receive a response or confirmation of your application.
