Workplace Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work with the world-renowned BioFINDER team at Lund University, whose research is at the forefront of neurodegeneration.

We are world leaders in studies of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Our research aims to improve the diagnosis and ultimately the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. You will be part of an internationally leading team of neuroscience researchers and clinical researchers whose work is at the cutting edge of these diseases. The Clinical Memory Research Group (BioFINDER team) is located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund. Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant, your tasks may vary and should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying.

We are currently seeking a student assistant who will help with data collection, including assistance during MRI scanning with ultra-high field and management of research participants and patients. The position also includes data analysis and quality assessment of behavioral and neuroimaging data.

Qualifications

To be eligible for employment as a student assistant, you must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate education and actively studying at the department/faculty.

Requirements for the position include:

  • Strong interest in cognitive neuroscience, human memory, Alzheimer's disease, and methods (data organization, data analysis, and statistics).
  • Experience in managing research participants and patients in research or clinical settings.
  • Very good knowledge of English and Swedish as a native language.
  • Experience with (f)MRI scanning (7T).
  • Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is committed, has a good ability to work in a team, and is flexible. You enjoy working with research participants of various age groups and with patients.

Other

The employment is temporary for 5 months. Scope 17.5% of full-time. Start date is March 1 or by agreement.

The employment must not negatively affect the student assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other jobs. Regulations regarding educational employment as a student assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. An employment as a student assistant may be a maximum of 50% of full working hours and temporary for a maximum of one year, totaling a maximum of three years.

The Faculty of Medicine is an area of operation within Lund University, responsible for education and research in medicine, care, and health. Education is conducted in close collaboration with healthcare and is well anchored in the faculty's strong research tradition. The faculty's research spans a wide field of experimental basic research, patient-oriented clinical research, and health science research. The Department of Clinical Sciences in Malmö is one of the six departments at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine. We have a strong focus on clinical and epidemiological research and also conduct extensive preclinical laboratory research.
