The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We receive non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues, mental health problems, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.
Job Description
Are you a licensed psychologist looking to work with young people in critical developmental phases of life? Young people who have lost their way and need help finding their path forward. We offer a psychological role with a wide variety of tasks and challenges. You will encounter all types of personalities, mental health issues, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. You will face substance abuse and criminal behavior, but you will also meet the person behind the diagnosis and behavioral issues. Much of the satisfaction in this work lies in following a young person's development from hopelessness and acting out in a life-changing process towards a more dignified life with housing, relationships, studies, and work.
We are developing health and medical care work at Brättegården and are now looking for a licensed psychologist who wants to participate, influence, and make a difference. As a psychologist at SiS Youth Home Brättegården, you will be part of the institution's Quality Unit, which currently consists of a quality manager, institution responsible nurse, two nurses, a quality coordinator, three psychologists, and five treatment secretaries. We also have access to a part-time doctor. Psychologists, nurses, doctors, and quality coordinators work across all units in a multidisciplinary treatment team. As a psychologist, you actively contribute based on your specific role and are also an important and integrated part of the organization. The work therefore places high demands on the ability to collaborate.
Brättegården has two treatment departments for non-compulsory school-age girls.
Two specially reinforced departments, SFA, focus on girls with autism spectrum disorders and/or intellectual disabilities who require specially adapted care and treatment. The main task of an SFA department is the habilitative perspective.
As part of the treatment for transition, there is an open department for girls. Here, the focus is on helping the youth maintain their acquired skills by practicing in open settings.
During the year, an assessment department MBB – Reception and Needs Assessment and a transition operation will be established.
SiS has an ongoing collaboration with BUP where we provide integrated care for particularly psychiatric care-demanding youth. As a psychologist, you play a crucial role in this collaboration. In cooperation with the National Board of Health and Welfare, research work is also conducted in the field of youth care. The psychological work at Brättegården includes treatment, assessments, screening and investigations, risk and needs assessments, consultations, and case supervision. You will be part of the school's student health team under the leadership of the principal. You contribute to the institution's competence development by continuously educating and supervising treatment staff. At Brättegården, our staff is trained in CBT, MI, and TMO, and the psychologists are responsible for education, supervision, and consultation for all departments and teachers.
SiS offers, in addition to generous wellness grants, good opportunities for personal development and certifications in various areas such as specialist training.
