Job Advertisement: University Lecturer in Human Ecology

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include teaching and supervision in human ecology, particularly in the areas of research methodology and non-industrial livelihoods.
Teaching and supervision in cultural geography and economic geography may also occur. Administrative tasks may also be part of the responsibilities. Teaching and supervision are conducted in both English and Swedish.
Qualifications
A doctoral degree in human ecology or a relevant field is required, or equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad, along with other competencies significant to the subject and tasks of the position. The position also requires teaching experience, primarily from a Swedish university or college, and documented ability to teach in English and Swedish. One of the most important assessment criteria is the ability to quickly understand and execute the teaching assignment.

In the latest international evaluations (RQ 08 and RQ 20) of Lund University, the department's research in several areas was assessed as excellent. This strong position has further developed, and the department is ranked according to QS 20 as number 23 in the world, making it one of Lund University's highest-ranked scientific fields in 2022.
The Department of Cultural Geography and Economic Geography combines a strong subject-bearing tradition with modern and internationally high-quality research and education. The department has extensive international collaborations but also strong networks and contact points within and outside the faculty at LU. Central research and teaching areas include economic geography, development geography, urban and social geography, human ecology, and GIS.
