Treatment Secretary at SiS Youth Home Brättegården

SiS Youth Home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We receive non-school-attending girls with psychosocial issues, mental health problems, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to make a difference for vulnerable young people? Are you passionate about treatment and engaging people in the process? Then the job as a treatment secretary at SiS Youth Home Brättegården is a meaningful opportunity for you.

Each department has a unit manager, a group leader, and a treatment secretary; these three positions together form a departmental team. Your role as a treatment secretary is organizationally placed under the quality manager and is responsible for coordinating and planning the care and treatment for the young people residing in the department. You will closely collaborate with the group leader, who in turn plans, coordinates, and operationally leads the daily work in the department, as well as supports the department's staff in their work with the young people based on the treatment plan you have established in your role.

You are engaged by involving and making the youth participate in every step of the treatment process. You are responsible for evaluating the treatment efforts together with the young people and anchoring all processes with both the unit manager, group leader, and staff in the department. You plan and lead treatment collegiums and guide the treatment collective towards set goals in daily work. You handle coordination meetings with external parties and also coordinate work around needs assessments and investigations.

The work is varied and requires flexibility and responsibility. It involves being a structure bearer, meticulous, and organized. You understand the value and context of collaboration; it is natural for you to guide and support your colleagues. You are the initiator who anchors and implements decisions.

Additionally, the position is flexible in that you work independently to the extent you wish, while also having the opportunity for continuous meetings with other colleagues in the same position where you exchange experiences, quality assure efforts, and update on new guidelines and standardized work. Surrounding you are various positions with long-standing and broad expertise, which facilitates your work and enriches your daily life.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with a genuine interest in youth care and who is eager to participate in the development of the operations and the methods used. You need to be attentive and affirming in your interactions with the young people, able to build alliances and create collaboration even with youth exhibiting challenging behaviors, and instill trust and confidence in you.

You should also have:

  • Relevant higher education such as a social worker or another behavioral science education that SiS considers equivalent and that comprises at least 180 credits.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and spoken.
  • Driver's license B, as the work sometimes involves travel outside the institution.

We consider it advantageous if you have experience in care and treatment work within social services, psychiatry, or correctional care. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement. Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment process.
