About the Workplace

The main mission of the Social Administration is to provide individualized support and services in elderly care, disability, children and family, adults, and economic assistance. We are here for the residents of the municipality through all stages of life.

Within the Unit for Economic Assistance and Adults, there are two workgroups. The Economic Assistance group has ten social workers and a group manager, led by a unit manager. We are a smaller unit that places a high value on community and ensuring that citizens have accessible social services with close access to high-quality interventions. Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute in economic assistance, you will assess and make decisions regarding economic assistance according to the Social Services Act, support and guide individuals in need of economic assistance towards self-sufficiency, and collaborate with colleagues and other authorities to create the right conditions for the individual.

The summer position covers the summer months of June-August, with a flexible start date during the first half of June.

Together with clients, you will work to find solutions that strengthen their resources and opportunities to become self-sufficient and live an independent life.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

• ongoing social work education, at least semester 4 (law), or another relevant academic education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience in social work
• experience in case management

Personal Qualities We Are Looking For

For the role of social worker in economic assistance, we are looking for someone who is structured and can plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You are used to setting clear goals and meeting deadlines, which is crucial when working to support clients towards self-sufficiency. Your ability to collaborate is a central strength, as you work closely with both colleagues and external actors to create individual action plans and targeted interventions. You relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, and are skilled at communicating and resolving conflicts constructively. We also see that you have the ability to make quick, legally sound decisions and act on them, with good judgment even under time pressure. We value a person who can empathize with someone else's perspective or situation without taking over their feelings.
