Do you want to work with meaningful support, participation, and self-determination?

We are now looking for dedicated support assistants for our housing with special services, with a psychiatric focus, in northeastern Gothenburg!

About the positions

We are recruiting for two different types of positions within the same ad:

  • Position 1 – Permanent placement
    Placement at Älvåsbacken.
  • Position 2 – Mobile position
Mobile placement where you work across Älvåsbacken, Trädgårdsberget, and Persiljegatan.

Both positions involve working with sleeping on-call duty.

The operational area consists of three residences (Älvåsbacken, Trädgårdsberget, and Persiljegatan) with special services according to LSS and SoL, all with a psychiatric focus. Our tenants have their own apartments and need individually tailored support in their daily lives.

The target group is adults with various mental disabilities and support needs, for example related to schizophrenia, anxiety, addiction, compulsion, and/or self-harming behavior.

The operations include 6–11 users per residence and have a strong focus on:

  • Safety and stability.
  • Social interaction and relationship building.
  • Participation and self-determination.

All operations are pet-free.

About you

As a support assistant, you work to provide individually tailored support in daily life based on each person's needs and implementation plan. The role includes, among other things:

  • Working based on low-arousal responses (LAB), motivational interviewing (MI), and Independent Living (ESL).
  • Being a contact person and collaborating with relatives and other actors.
  • Establishing, following up, and documenting implementation plans.
  • Documenting in operational systems such as Treserva, Time Care, and Personec.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, every other weekend, and sleeping on-call duty.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the health and care program, support assistant education, or the child and leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. Alternatively, you have post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Or 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Experience working with people with mental disabilities is required for the position. You also need to have knowledge of motivational interviewing (MI), Independent Living (ESL), and experience working with low-arousal responses (LAB).

It is advantageous if you have experience working in the Treserva system and with the method of the individual's needs in focus (IBIC).

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, which means a requirement for approved grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirement may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their own and the group's tasks and always bases their work on the operations' mission and the residents' best interests. You are friendly, helpful, and professional in your interactions, even in stressful situations, and show respect and care for everyone you meet in your work. You actively work to ensure that our tenants receive the support they need and are receptive to others' opinions and perspectives by showing respect, consideration, and care.
