About the Job

Do you want to make a difference for our young adults?

Aröds HVB offers housing and support for young adults aged 18-20 who are experiencing acute homelessness.

We have 12 apartments where our residents may be struggling with active addiction and/or mental health issues. Our goal is to support and motivate these young individuals towards an independent life through daily contact and close collaboration.

Your responsibilities include working together with the resident and the social worker to establish action plans with goals and activities that promote their opportunities for increased independence. In addition, we work to map the individual's resources and needs in order to motivate and support the path to independent living and life. Your ability to be receptive, curious, and motivating will therefore be a very valuable asset in daily work. We work individually, which means we recognize the uniqueness of each individual and create opportunities and provide support based on each person's needs. We work closely with the placing social worker, and the job also involves collaboration with other authorities and professional networks. All work is carefully documented in our digital system, Treserva.

We operate in a team-oriented environment where we have shared case management. Together with colleagues, we plan and implement interventions tailored to the individual's needs and the social services' mission. Our methods include Motivational Interviewing (MI), low-arousal responses (LAB), relapse prevention conversations, and trauma-informed care (TMO). No day is like the other with us, and we are always prepared for unpredictable situations and enjoy being able to quickly adapt depending on the situation. Together, we also assist with practical tasks such as cleaning our own spaces and helping our residents with their own households when needed.

You will be part of a competent team consisting of youth social workers, on-call and night staff, managers, and unit heads. Working hours are primarily during the day, but you will also work some evenings and every third weekend. Our premises at Lambergsgatan 4 are easily accessible by public transport, and we have management available around the clock.

We now need to strengthen our team with a temporary colleague during a parental leave. We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis during the advertising period. Welcome with your application!

Qualifications

You are a qualified social worker or have another at least 3-year university degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. To take on the role, you need to have previous work experience in social work. A B driver's license is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have work experience in social work with young people or individuals with addiction issues and/or mental health problems. Training in MI, low-arousal responses, relapse prevention conversations, and trauma-informed care is also considered advantageous.

You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think of those we are here for and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on how it turned out.

You are friendly and helpful to others even in a stressful situation. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student/client/user gets what they need.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.

You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-informed decisions despite time pressure.
