Personal assistance is a needs-assessed support that exists to enable individuals with disabilities, with the help of personal assistance, to participate in society and live an independent life to the greatest extent possible. The operation is part of the care and support sector in Skövde municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of personal assistant, you have the opportunity to contribute to the quality of life for our clients. Our work is based on our core values of safety, responsibility, and respectful treatment, and you are a significant part of the client's well-being. You work carefully and professionally with the clients, both in and outside their home environment, in collaboration with others in the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professional groups and relatives.

As a personal assistant, you start from the client's individual needs, wishes, and implementation plan to best support and assist the individual in achieving the highest possible quality of life in their daily life. The work also includes service tasks, such as preparing simple meals, doing dishes, laundry, and cleaning. You assist the client with mobility and personal hygiene. You work with clear pedagogical methods and clear routines. Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the job.

Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between different units. This means that you may also need to do shifts at other workplaces within the sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education and passing grades from the health and care program or the child and leisure program, or another equivalent education. We would like you to have post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position, such as personal assistant training or treatment assistant training. It is a plus (but not a requirement) if you have experience working with mental or physical disabilities and/or experience working according to the Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC). Experience with clear pedagogical methods, low-arousal responses, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is also meritorious.

As a person, you are calm and secure and have a respectful, good, and adapted approach and find it easy to build relationships. You are a service-oriented person who puts the individual's needs at the center. To succeed in the role, we see that you are good at collaborating with colleagues, clients, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. You are solution-focused and can easily adapt to new circumstances. To thrive in the role, you need to be proactive, take responsibility in your professional role, and be used to working independently.

As the client has a pet allergy, it is not suitable for you to have pets. The client prefers a female assistant.

To work with us, you need a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.

In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish since you and the client need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You have computer skills and preferably experience with documentation in journal systems.
