IT Strategy Unit

Do you want to be part of the further development of Uppsala Municipality's IT architecture? As an IT architect with us, you will play a central role in driving technical development forward. We are now looking for an experienced IT architect who can work strategically and tactically in complex environments and who wants to help build our new architecture function.

Your Mission

Strategic Work and Architecture Management

• Lead and participate in work that includes analyses, technical reviews, and the preparation of documentation for strategic choices and decisions.
• Contribute to the development of the municipality's architectural capability by establishing and improving processes and models.

Modeling and Technical Implementation

• Ensure that the target architecture can be achieved by modeling technical solutions, identifying dependencies, and coordinating implementation with the business.
• Perform modeling and work with frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.
• Review and guide technical solutions to ensure long-term, sustainable, and cost-effective IT investments.

Collaboration and Support

• Collaborate with other functions and businesses to develop architectural descriptions that support the development work of the organizations.
• Develop and implement standards and guidelines to ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with the municipality's long-term goals.

As an IT architect at Uppsala Municipality, you play a key role in driving our digital transformation by shaping and developing the target architecture in line with the municipality's strategies and goals.

The IT architecture function is part of the IT strategy unit within Uppsala Municipality's IT department. The IT strategy unit is also responsible for IT governance, information security, and cybersecurity.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with solid experience in architectural work at both strategic and tactical levels, with experience in establishing architecture functions and architecture governance models. You may also have experience in roles such as solution architect, business architect, Tech Lead, or Lead Developer, thereby building strong competencies in IT architecture.

You have a technical background combined with experience in business development and expertise in areas such as system development, integrations, or platforms. To succeed in this role, you need at least a few years of experience in architectural work in complex environments, where both organizational and technical perspectives have been central.

As a person, you have a strong business focus and the ability to support the organization in prioritizing the right initiatives and ensuring that development work is conducted under good conditions. You are pedagogical and can explain complex issues in a way that is adapted to different target groups.

You have good analytical skills and can think abstractly and quickly put things into context, regardless of the time perspective.

We are looking for someone with a degree in IT at the university level or through YH education or equivalent experience that the employer deems relevant for the position.
