Employment Consultant at the Integration and Labor Market Administration
The position is located within the Integration and Labor Market Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. We strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who are dependent on financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent. We also contribute to the skills supply for Linköping Municipality and the business community.
Do you want to brighten everyday life and improve the quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can make a significant difference and contribute to making Linköping a better place. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
We are now looking for an employment consultant and are seeking someone who is curious about an exciting assignment where you can contribute and make a difference for individuals. As an employment consultant, you will work operationally with participants in various labor market initiatives. We work coaching with motivational interviewing (MI) and based on systems theory to see multiple perspectives on the individual's situation and needs, with the goal of the participant becoming self-sufficient through studies or work. A large part of the work involves working with combined initiatives such as SFI, studies, language practice, and/or work. The participant receives help and support through both group activities and individual support regarding job searching and the labor market or through internships or a labor market employment.
The work involves many contacts, both internal contacts with participants and colleagues as well as external contacts with, among others, the Employment Service, healthcare, and private actors. We apply Supported Employment, which is about supporting people with mental health issues to enter the labor market in the best possible way. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that the purpose and objectives of the initiative are anchored both with the participants and the receiving organization, as well as being responsible for administration and follow-up regarding the participant.
Your Workplace
The mission of the Integration and Labor Market Administration is to strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who are in need of financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent, as well as to contribute to the skills supply for Linköping Municipality and the business community. In the administration, we work closely with residents, businesses, the non-profit sector, authorities, and other public actors. The administration comprises about 300 employees and operates within the scope of the Labor Market Committee.
Within Employment and Support, there are the following units:
- Reception
- Integration (refugee reception, financial assistance, and labor market)
- Complementary initiatives
- Employment and Support 1-3 (financial assistance)
- Employment and Support 4-5 (labor market)
The Integration Unit works with the target group of newly arrived individuals and is responsible for the reception of newly arrived individuals. We handle incoming applications and notifications regarding support for subsistence and initiatives related to integration through work, studies, good economic balance, and housing. We continuously develop our working methods and evaluate our work methods continuously. Within the unit, various professionals work together to shorten the establishment period for newly arrived individuals. We have unit coordinators, integration assistants, social workers, and employment consultants who collaborate daily to create better conditions in housing, economic, and labor market issues.
Your workplace will be at Drottninggatan 45 in central Linköping. Working hours are scheduled from 7:50 AM to 5:00 PM, with shorter working days until 4:00 PM during the summer months. We apply flexible working hours.
Who You Are
We see that you, as an applicant, have a relevant university degree, such as a social worker, social and cultural analyst, or behavioral scientist, or that you have another university education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant. You have experience working with labor market issues. You may have experience coaching people in need of support and have worked with motivational interviewing (MI) as a conversation method. If you have also worked with systems theory and have experience and training in Supported Employment, this is also considered an advantage for the position.
Since the work involves many social contacts and a fair amount of documentation, good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing is a requirement. Additional language skills are considered an advantage, as well as if you have experience working with the operational system Lifecare.
To succeed and thrive in the role, we see that you, as an applicant, plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. A large part of the work involves collaboration with others, so you need to work well with other people and relate to them in a smooth and attentive manner. For this reason, you also need to be outgoing and create and maintain relationships. With us, you work with people from different backgrounds, which means you need to value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Since no day with us is like the other, you also need to be adaptable to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.
In the recruitment process, we may use logic and personality tests.
Warm welcome with your application!
