The Regional Biobank Center South (RBC South) in Lund is one of six regional healthcare biobank centers and provides support in biobank matters for all activities affected by biobank laws. We work with issues related to the collection, storage, and use of samples stored in biobanks within the southern healthcare region. RBC South is part of Biobank Sweden and also works to promote biobank issues from a national perspective.

Our mission includes providing expertise and tools to ensure compliance with the laws and regulations governing biobank operations within the healthcare region, as well as developing and maintaining systems for quality assurance and privacy-protected use of biobanks. To make the region attractive for clinical and epidemiological research, we also contribute to the creation of relevant sample collections and ensure that samples are made available in a quality-assured manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an administrator for the Regional Biobank Center South in Lund for a fixed-term employment of one year, with a possibility of extension.

The main responsibilities include:

  • processing and investigating applications regarding biobank samples
  • answering questions and providing information regarding the application process for biobank samples
  • answering common questions about biobanks and the application of biobank laws
  • archiving and documentation
  • participating in the implementation of new routines and contributing to the development of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in healthcare, natural sciences, or other qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer. You have good communication skills and are proficient in both Swedish and English, spoken and written. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have experience in research work and biobank issues. To succeed in this role, it is essential that you view the computer as a natural working tool and that you are well acquainted with the Office suite.

You enjoy both independent work and working with others, and you have the ability to identify, drive, and follow up on issues independently. As a person, you are solution-oriented and see opportunities even in complex questions; you are also attentive and have the ability to consider different needs and perspectives.
