Business Description

The Adapted Primary School is for grades 1-9 and is located at Hedskolan and Sjöparksskolan. The staff includes both special educators/special teachers and student assistants.

We provide students with intellectual disabilities an education tailored to their needs. The teaching is based on each student's requirements and circumstances.

After-school care is available in the program.

Job Responsibilities

A substitute teacher's role is to step in and cover for absent staff at the adapted primary school, for example as a teacher or student assistant. You will often work from a prepared lesson plan, and the assignments are very varied. You will cover absences from elementary to middle school. As a substitute, you will also work at the adapted primary school's after-school care.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least a high school diploma, and it is advantageous to have experience working with children/students in various contexts. If you have worked with children with different diagnoses, that is a plus. We seek someone who is flexible and has a present and attentive approach to students' varying needs, is a clear leader, and has good collaboration skills. You are independent, responsible, and able to take initiative. Personal suitability is of great importance.

Before employment, a police background check is required, which will be assessed prior to hiring.

In accordance with the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for a position in Gällivare municipality.

Working Hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent position. A probationary period may be applied.
