Övertorneå Municipality is looking for a teacher for grades 4–6

According to surveys, Övertorneå Municipality's schools are among the best in the country, offering education of the highest quality - from preschool to adult education. One of the explanations highlighted is small classes with high teacher density and experienced teachers, which allows for more individual attention for each student. We place great importance on IT competence among both students and staff, where computers/iPads are used as teaching is enhanced by this. We have high expectations for both students and staff. Övertorneå Municipality is now seeking a teacher for grades 4–6.

About you

We are looking for a certified teacher for teaching in grades 4–6. You should have good pedagogical skills and a positive attitude towards our students. You are flexible, open, meticulous, and have good collaboration skills. We value your commitment, responsibility, and professional competence highly. Digital competence is a requirement.

As we are an administrative municipality for Finnish and Meänkieli, it is advantageous if you know one of these languages.

To work with children in school, you are required to provide a criminal record extract before employment. You request the extract yourself from the police, and you can find the application form at www.polisen.se (https://www.polisen.se).

Job responsibilities

Mainly teaching at the middle school level at Svarträvens School in Övertorneå. Mentorship is included in the position.
