This is what we offer

The Social Services in Hässleholm municipality has a joint reception unit for children, youth, and adults that initially receives reports and applications. You will work with protection assessments and preliminary assessments in the cases that come in. The work is mainly conducted based on the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act with special provisions on the care of young people (LVU), and the Act on the care of substance abusers in certain cases (LVM).

As a social worker in the Reception Unit, you will meet citizens of all ages, and your task will be to assess the need for protection and support and whether an investigation should be initiated. The position also includes counseling and information about the various opportunities within social services.

Our Reception Unit consists of seven social workers and a unit manager. We have varying work experience, which contributes to a broad competence within the team. We work at a varying pace where we care for each other and help each other when needed. For us, well-being and a good work environment are important.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work and has work experience in public authority within social services. It is an advantage if you have experience from reception work or social work with public authority within IFO, focusing on children and youth/adults. You have experience in meeting people in crisis and possess good communication skills. You have broad knowledge of the various functions of society and the conditions and opportunities of social services. You have experience with documentation and master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing. You need to have a B driver's license.

As a person, you have a strong commitment and interest in working with social work. You have the ability to meet people in difficult life situations in an empathetic and professional manner. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, find it easy to communicate, and motivate the assessments made. You plan, structure, and drive your work independently while asking for help when needed and can shift focus at short notice. Of course, you work legally, service-oriented, creatively, and adhere to the laws and guidelines that govern our mission.

The position is a permanent employment with a start date according to agreement.

Since you will be working with children and youth, we ask that you provide a criminal record extract before employment. The form to apply for a criminal record extract can be found on the police's website.

Before employment, you need to present a passport/national ID. If you have citizenship from a country outside the EU/EES, you also need to show your work permit. This is to ensure your identity and your right to work in Sweden.
