Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to be part of our competent and dedicated team!

Qvarnen is a residence for men experiencing homelessness with harmful use and dependency, often in combination with mental health issues. At Qvarnen, men of different ages, various drug use, and unique life stories, experiences, and needs live together. Our goal is to always offer tailored support so that our residents feel safe in their living environment. This places high demands on us as staff to be able to switch between different strategies and approaches, and to always maintain a good and non-judgmental attitude towards all our residents.

The job responsibilities involve supporting, motivating, and creating a safe living environment and secure relationships with the residents. An important part of the work at Qvarnen is to collaborate with other actors regarding our residents, such as the police, healthcare, social emergency services, and other units within social services.

The work includes certain practical tasks such as cleaning living rooms upon move-out, serving food and coffee, and assisting residents with other practical matters such as cleaning and laundry when needed. Job responsibilities also include documentation, record-keeping, and the establishment of action plans.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • A degree in social work, social pedagogy, treatment pedagogy, or another relevant degree deemed suitable by the employer for the assignment
  • Experience in social work
  • Experience working with individuals living with mental health issues
  • Experience working with individuals living with harmful use and dependency issues
  • Good knowledge of social services and its various interventions
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with low-affect approaches
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Naloxone training
  • MI training and/or solution-focused approaches
  • Experience in documentation within similar operations
  • Experience working from a harm reduction perspective and methodology
  • Experience collaborating with other actors regarding the target group, such as the police, healthcare, and social services
  • Driver's license (B)

We are looking for someone who can work independently but is also very collaborative and values their team and colleagues. We work closely in the team, so it is important that you are unpretentious and contribute to sharing experiences and learning from each other. At the same time, you have a good ability to focus on your part of the work, can work in a structured manner, and lead yourself when required. You also need to be accustomed to handling acute situations and have a good ability to prioritize the most important tasks at the moment.

We work based on low-affect approaches, and it is important that you have the ability to adapt your approach to the situation and the person you meet. You are also calm and stable and can distinguish between personal and private matters.

When filling these positions, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

Information About the Position

Employment type: Permanent. A probationary period may be applied.
Scope: Full-time
Number of positions: 1
Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement
Working hours: 07:00-16:30 and 12:30-22:00. Work every other weekend.

Planned interview dates are 27/2, 2/3, and 3/3.
