About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The municipality of Lund is looking for supervisors for summer internships - Young Democratic Consultants! As a supervisor, you will support and help Young Democratic Consultants develop in what may be their first job.

You will act as a coach and guide them through various projects during their summer internship.

Summer Internship

The summer internship in Lund is aimed at those born between 2006-2010, who are far from the labor market and are now given the opportunity to gain experience and references for future jobs. The summer program runs from weeks 25-27 during which you will work full-time as a supervisor. In addition, there will be time for training and a planning week for coaches conducted in May/June.

As a supervisor for Young Democratic Consultants, you will be responsible for leading the youth in a visionary democracy project where they will conduct interviews, survey the residents of Lund, work with citizen dialogue, and write a report. Your tasks will include:

• Planning, structuring, and organizing the activities to achieve the set goals with the summer interns.
• Encouraging co-creation with the summer interns and inspiring them so that their first job becomes creative and enjoyable.
• Coaching and challenging the summer interns without taking over the process yourself.

Some of our democratic consultants will focus their work particularly on young people with backgrounds from adapted schools or high schools. For these positions, specific experience or interest in working with this target group is required.

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for supervisors who have a good ability to guide young people, be creative, and listen to their voices and perspectives. You do not need to have special expertise in any particular subject to apply for the supervisor position; experience in coaching and mentoring young people is what counts the most. We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least a high school diploma
• Has experience leading and coaching young people in, for example, sports clubs, scout groups, or similar where your role has been to lead others.
• Is a person who is self-assured, takes initiative, but seeks help when situations arise that require it.
• Has the ability to work with participation and influence and is good at capturing participants' ideas and supporting them in ongoing processes.
• Has a positive attitude and a creative ability to create joy at work, engagement, and participation. It is important that you can adapt your efforts to different situations that arise and that you are solution-oriented.
• Can communicate fluently in Swedish and English

It is an advantage if you:

• have knowledge and experience of various survey methods.
