Personal Assistant for an Active Young Man in Malmö

About the Job

We are looking for a personal assistant who can work on an hourly basis with a 32-year-old man in Malmö. It is particularly important that you have a gentle demeanor and can provide guidance during challenging behaviors. To ensure this becomes a long-term, secure assignment, I believe that you should be a calm and stable person. The tasks may vary from day to day depending on my condition. I see it as essential to be prepared to do things regardless of the weather. A requirement for the position is that your body does not hinder you. I live in a ground-floor apartment with a small garden that I maintain as a tenant. Together, we will ensure that my small home and garden are kept in order. A personal assistant sometimes needs to be able to step back and not always take center stage; it is crucial that you understand why this is important in certain situations and that you do not take offense. With your support, I can live a normal life.

SMIL, the Cooperative Organization for Malmö Independent Living, has been providing personal assistance for children and adults since 1990. We offer personal assistance for individuals residing in Malmö and surrounding areas and are a cooperative without a profit motive!

SMIL has a collective agreement with Fremia/Kommunal, which gives personal assistants access to benefits such as occupational pension. We provide wellness grants twice a year and offer staff opportunities for training that is useful in their role as personal assistants. SMIL's key words are independence, freedom, and good staff care. We are an IfA-approved assistance provider, rooted in the movement that once contributed to making personal assistance a possibility in Sweden. SMIL has both members and employed staff who have been with us since our early days! We have permission from IVO to provide personal assistance for both adults and children.
