Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a student assistant for a project related to gender equality at the service administration. The administration has previously worked in this area and will strengthen its efforts further through a mandate from the service committee.
In this role, you will work closely with the project leader and play a central role in planning and implementing initiatives to increase gender equality and inclusion within the service administration. The initiatives will be planned and executed together with the project’s working group and relevant departments.
During your time with us, you will be placed in the HR department, with the opportunity to gain insight into the work that takes place in an HR department.
The results will be presented to the HR department.
As a student assistant in Malmö City, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in practice alongside your studies. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and a salary. The working hours will be approximately 10–15 hours per week.
Qualifications
The student assistant program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period.
You are studying gender studies, human rights, or sociology. It is an advantage if you are pursuing a master's degree in the field. You should have an interest in gender equality, human rights, and/or social sustainability.
As a person, you show interest and understanding of others, are attentive, and can contribute and challenge with new perspectives. You can work independently and take the initiative for check-ins and activities. Since the assignment is for a limited time, it is important that you have a good ability to plan your work and adhere to the existing timelines. We expect you to have good collaboration and communication skills.
Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required.
About the Workplace
The HR department's mission is to support the administration's managers in employer-related issues, ensure that Malmö City's HR processes are followed, and develop leadership and employee engagement within the administration. We guide the administration's managers through HR processes and serve as a sounding board for managers on employee-related matters – from recruitment and hiring to workplace environment and salary reviews to the end of employment.
The service administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transportation services to IT and responding to Malmö residents in the city’s contact center. We maintain streets, parks, and beaches, manage Malmö City’s buildings, and ensure that school students receive nutritious meals. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.

Job Information
Employment type: Fixed-term
Scope: Hourly paid. The assignment comprises approximately 120 hours over 13 weeks.
Working hours: As a student assistant, you will work about 10–15 hours a week during the day. The working hours are largely flexible. You will agree with your supervisor on working hours that can be combined with your studies.
