Social Workers and Child Handlers in the City of Helsingborg

Do you want to work in a stable and development-oriented social services where you can grow in your professional role? In the city of Helsingborg, the social administration is responsible for individual and family care with the mission to enable residents to become independent and participate in society.

We are now one year into our new organization with a focus on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions and services, and housing. We have high ambitions. But to succeed, we need you.

With us, you will receive close leadership with high trust, clear working methods, and a team that values collegial support and quality in processing. We are currently looking for several social workers and child handlers in the area of authority within:

  • Investigation and follow-up – Children and youth as well as Adults
  • Foster care
  • The reception
  • Social emergency services

Your Mission

As a social worker in the city of Helsingborg, you will work with authority exercise and legally secure processing. You will investigate, assess needs, plan, and make and follow up on decisions according to the Social Services Act and other relevant legal provisions. The work involves close collaboration with colleagues as well as internal and external partners.

Your role includes, among other things:

  • investigation and needs assessment
  • decisions on interventions and assistance according to SoL, LVU, and LVM
  • documentation, follow-up, and ongoing processing
  • conversations, motivational work, and counseling
  • collaboration with, for example, schools, healthcare, and police
  • participation in method and development work

About the Units

Investigation and Follow-up

You will investigate and follow up on interventions for children, youth, and adults in collaboration with the individual, networks, and other actors such as schools, BUP, and police. The work also includes areas such as harmful use and dependence as well as social psychiatry.

Foster Care

You will work with recruitment, investigation, training, and follow-up of foster homes and monitor the child's situation during placement. Relationship building and long-term support are central.

The Reception and Social Emergency Services

Here you will receive applications and reports, make protection assessments, and provide advice and support. The social emergency service is responsible for authority exercise after office hours for the municipalities within the Family Helsingborg.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Degree in social work or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Experience of authority exercise within social services
  • For the role of children and youth, we prefer at least two years of experience
  • Driving license for manually shifted cars

Meritorious

  • BBIC, Signs of Safety, and MI (children and youth)
  • ASI, CAN, and experience with Lifecare (adults)

Employment

The positions are placed within the social administration in the city of Helsingborg. Shift work and evening shifts may occur in certain areas.
