Somaya Support Service is a religiously and politically independent non-profit organization that belongs to the national organization Unizon. We have a permit from IVO and offer protection and support to women and LGBTQI individuals who are victims of violence in close relationships or honor-related violence and oppression. We are a multilingual organization with over 25 years of experience working with the target group. Our vision is a society where equality, equity, and participation are a given.
About the assignment
We are looking for an engaged and structured project manager who wants to drive a project focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for young women and girls. As a project manager, you will have overall responsibility for planning, leading, and following up on operations and contributing to creating safe environments where the target group can meet and develop. You will work closely with the target group on a meaningful and varied assignment.
The project is funded by the Gender Equality Agency and aims to strengthen the organization of women and girls in areas with socio-economic challenges, promote their participation in democratic processes, and enable them to advocate for their rights and drive their issues.
Your responsibilities include:
- Project planning and implementation: Develop and implement a project plan in close collaboration with participants, focusing on individualized interventions for young women and girls. You will lead daily operations, coordinate activities, ensure that the organization meets participants' needs, and continuously report on project status and development.
- Collaboration and partnerships: Build and maintain collaborations with external actors. Create partnership agreements to offer a tailored range of activities and support.
- Monitoring and evaluation: Follow up and analyze the project's development through quantitative and qualitative methods and drive continuous improvement and development based on lessons learned. Ensure that activities are adjusted based on participant feedback and needs, and that project activities and costs are carried out within the established operational budget.
- Communication and marketing: Work closely with a communicator to spread information about the project's efforts and activities via social media and other channels. You will be responsible for reaching both the target group and professionals who can refer to the organization.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is self-driven and structured with a good ability to quickly adapt to new situations. You have the ability to act confidently and professionally even when circumstances change. You are relationship-oriented and have a good ability to establish contact with people in various environments and contexts. You have an empathetic approach and a genuine interest in individuals with specific vulnerability factors. You value close, unpretentious collaboration in a small work group.
Qualifications - requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Communicates fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Has documented experience in project management, preferably within social work or children's rights issues.
- Has at least two years of documented experience working with children and young adults.
- Relevant education focusing on children and youth or a degree in social work.
- Has a good ability to establish contact with people
- Has good collaboration skills and experience taking personal responsibility
Desirable qualifications:
- Previous work with the target group
- Previous assignments within civil society
- Good knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English.
- Knowledge of violence in close relationships and honor-related violence
- Driving license (B)
