We have very varied tasks, and no day is the same as the other. The work includes, among other things, travel to placed children, within Stockholm or out in the country. The group consists of several different roles that collaborate and support each other. With us, there are many different personalities and experiences gathered, and that dynamic gives a lot of energy. Even though we work with difficult issues, we also have a lot of fun together.

The operational area of children, youth, and family in Hägersten-Älvsjö consists of the units; reception, children, children and youth, youth, foster homes, and family support. Our operational area is led by an area manager and six unit managers. Together we invest forward and help create a social service that is modern and characterized by high quality.

We are looking for someone with experience in the authority's work with foster children. Our unit consists of three groups led by two group leaders and a coordinator. One group consists of family home secretaries and recruiters, which also includes our two family therapists. The family therapists are an ongoing initiative providing enhanced support to children, parents, and foster homes. One group consists of child secretaries and administrative support. Our third group consists of four contact secretaries. The unit's employees have many years of experience and various competencies.

Now we are looking for someone with extensive experience who, together with knowledgeable and committed colleagues, wants to work to ensure that our children have the best possible time during their foster placement. You will have contact with the children's parents and networks, foster homes, as well as schools and other professional contacts in close collaboration with family home secretaries. As support for family home secretaries and child secretaries to conduct social work of good quality, we have developed a close support through an administrator and special emergency home caseworkers. With us, you have good opportunities for competence development based on the unit's competence supply plan, and you are actively involved in the development of providing support of very high quality.

We apply winter and summer working hours as well as flexible hours. You will receive a wellness allowance of 3000 SEK per year and have the opportunity to apply for vacation exchange. To get a good start at your new workplace, we place great importance on your introduction, and you will receive support from our competent mentors. In addition to regular case supervision with management, you will receive external supervision every three weeks in Gamla Stan.

Your role

In the role of child secretary, you will follow up on placements for children and young people aged 0-20 who are placed in foster homes according to SoL or LVU. This mainly occurs through home visits in the foster homes, individual conversations with the placed child, and conversations with guardians. You will have contact and collaborate with networks and other important people around the placed child. The work involves travel both in the local area and to other parts of Sweden.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who have

  • a degree in social work
  • at least 2 years of experience working with authority work within children and youth
  • ease in expressing yourself in both speech and writing
  • good knowledge of legislation within SoL and LVU
  • good collaboration skills
  • order and structure in your work
  • curiosity, courage, and a strong commitment to the best interests of our children

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and the ability to fit into the team and to contribute to and complement the team's competencies.

Desirable education/knowledge:

  • previous experience in family care
  • experience working in the operational system Paraplyet
  • Signs of Safety

  • Driving license B

As a social secretary, you need to have personal maturity and be a secure and stable person. You need to have a good empathetic ability that you combine with the ability to create good relationships with children, young people, and their families, as well as all the parties you collaborate with.
