Do you want a key role in a business-critical payroll function?

Do you want a key role in a retail organization where the payroll function is business-critical and where you will work closely with operations, HR, and finance?

We are now looking for a senior payroll specialist with expertise across the entire payroll chain and a solid grasp of both payroll delivery and tax reporting.

The role is suitable for you who want to take full responsibility in a personnel-intensive environment with store staff, hourly wages, OB, and collective agreements.

The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probation period, located at our office in central Stockholm, and requires daily on-site presence.

About the role

As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the entire payroll process from time reporting and payroll preparation to final payment, tax reporting, employer declarations, and reporting to authorities.

We are looking for an operational and reliable specialist who can step in at short notice and take full responsibility for the payroll function, especially during peak periods or in connection with development and change, for example during system transitions.

You will be a central link between the store, HR, and finance and ensure that the payroll flow is correct, efficient, and reliable over time.

Your responsibilities

Payroll delivery in a retail environment
  • Overall responsibility for the payroll process for store staff and employees

  • Management of hourly wages, OB, overtime, additional hours, and reimbursements

  • Control of time reporting, schedule data, and payroll documentation

  • Vacation, sick leave, VAB, and other personnel-related flows

  • Ensure correct payment every month with the highest delivery quality

Tax reporting and government reporting (central responsibility)
  • Full responsibility for tax reporting related to the payroll process

  • Employer declarations at the individual level

  • Reporting to authorities and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Quality assurance of taxes, reimbursements, and deductions

Collective agreements and benefits
  • Interpretation and application of collective agreements within trade/retail

  • Benefits management, pensions, and payroll-related terms

Link between Finance and HR
  • Reconciliations, reporting, and payroll documentation to finance and accounting

  • Close collaboration with finance during monthly closings and controls

  • Ensure that personnel data and payroll flows are interconnected throughout the chain

Systems and improvement work
  • Broad system management within payroll and time reporting

  • Support during development, efficiency improvements, and potential system transitions

  • Contribute to structure and improved processes over time

Who we are looking for

We are looking for you who are a senior payroll specialist with deep technical competence and a strong holistic perspective.

You have expertise across the entire payroll chain – from time reporting to final payment, tax reporting, employer declarations, and government reporting – and have successfully navigated various environments with collective agreements, benefits management, and complex payroll flows.

You are an operational force who creates security in delivery even when the pace is high or the organization is undergoing change.

You take responsibility, work in a structured way, and contribute to making the payroll function more efficient and reliable over time.

We would like you to have:
  • Several years of experience in qualified payroll work, preferably within retail

  • Good experience with hourly employee setups, OB, and schedule-driven personnel

  • Strong knowledge of collective agreements and payroll processes

  • Documented experience in tax reporting and government reporting

  • Experience working closely with finance and HR

  • Very good system proficiency – experience with Agda is a strong merit

  • A humble and solution-oriented working approach

Workplace and setup

The position is based at our office in central Stockholm. The role requires 100% on-site presence and is not offered as a hybrid or remote solution.

We offer
  • A long-term and business-critical key role in a retail organization

  • A central position between payroll, HR, and finance

  • The opportunity to influence structure and processes within payroll

  • An engaged team and office in central Stockholm
