Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago with a unique combination of the tranquil beauty of nature and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not one but many: schools, real estate, social services, ports, healthcare, libraries, care, and many more. We strive to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who enable the dream of a vibrant and safe environment for homes, families, and businesses.
To succeed fully, we must have many and extensive competencies and work together for a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.
Labor Market Unit
The Labor Market Unit belongs to the Adult Education and Labor Office, which also includes financial assistance and adult education.
The unit currently consists of 15 dedicated employees. The main mission of the unit is to help more residents of Värmdö achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies.
In the role of labor market consultant, you will work both independently and together with colleagues to strengthen, guide, and match residents of Värmdö to work or studies. In your work, you will have close collaboration with colleagues within the unit, with other units, and various external contacts such as authorities, workplaces, and more. The residents of Värmdö we meet often have needs that we need to consider in the process towards self-sufficiency. You have the ability to motivate people who are far from the labor market, which is a prerequisite for succeeding and thriving in the role of labor market consultant.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant academic degree (e.g., social worker, behavioral scientist, or equivalent that we assess as comparable).
- Experience working with target groups that are far from the labor market (e.g., foreign-born individuals, people with mental health issues, or neurodevelopmental disorders).
- Good knowledge of the labor market and the services of the Employment Agency.
- Good administrative skills and experience with ongoing documentation in operational systems.
- The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with labor market policy initiatives and subsidized employment.
- Experience with documentation in the Aventus system.
- Training in and experience with MI (Motivational Interviewing) or Supported Employment.
- An established network within the business community or experience with business-related contacts.
To succeed in the role, we see it as a given prerequisite that you can collaborate and contribute positively to our work climate. The job requires a genuine interest in people as well as a good ability to take initiative and work solution-focused. As we operate in a changing world, it is important to enjoy adapting working methods and developing methods based on the needs of the residents of Värmdö.
We are looking for a colleague who combines good administrative structure with a secure and empathetic skill in building trust. The role requires determination and a good understanding of the missions and regulations of different actors. You see opportunities even in complex situations and have a conviction that people who are far from the labor market can succeed in finding, getting, and keeping a job with the right support.
We place great emphasis on your ability to collaborate and your personal suitability.
Värmdö municipality offers wellness grants, SL cards against net salary deductions, and vacation exchange for extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours.
We value the qualities that diversity brings to the organization and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds, life experiences, and gender identities for the position.
