Lawyer at the County Administrative Board of Stockholm
Do you want to contribute as a lawyer to sustainable development in Stockholm County?
We are looking for two socially interested lawyers who want to provide legal support to the county management and core operations by assisting legally in important areas such as crisis and total defense, security protection, administrative law, data protection, and information security.
Here you will work with engaged colleagues and have the pulse of Kungsgatan outside the door, but also have the opportunity to work from home.
What does the role involve?
In this role, you will work at the Legal Secretariat of the County Administrative Board with three other lawyers and our chief legal officer. The Legal Secretariat is part of the county management's office and provides support for the county management as well as other parts of the authority in cross-agency legal matters such as public law, total defense, and security protection, as well as quality assurance of agreements and contracts.
You will, for example, work in the areas of crisis and total defense, security protection, administrative law including public access and confidentiality, data protection, and information security.
The position also includes preparing referrals, developing the authority's governance tools, and being a legal support.
Are you the one we are looking for?
For this role, you should have:
- a law degree (270 higher education credits),
- court clerk qualification or other similar experience, such as qualified experience in case handling within public operations and/or relevant legal consultation,
- several years of experience in legal investigative work,
- experience in writing administrative decisions,
- very good ability to express yourself simply and pedagogically in speech and writing.
As a person, you are analytical and enjoy evaluating information to make correct, balanced, and legally secure assessments and priorities. You are receptive and constructive and enjoy collaborating with others. As a lawyer, you are confident in your professional practice, possess personal maturity and integrity, and are accustomed to providing solutions based on the needs, roles, and assignments of the organization. You have an interest in working cross-sectorally and consultatively. We are a small team that works together, and it is important that we all have the will and ability to contribute to a good working environment.
As an employee at the County Administrative Board, you need to:
- have the ability to make decisions considering multiple perspectives,
- understand that a central role for the County Administrative Board is to balance different interests,
- have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
It is advantageous if you have experience in:
- total defense law,
- the regulations regarding security protection,
- state aid issues,
- civil law,
- giving presentations and training.
Employment
The employment is permanent. We would like you to start as soon as possible or by agreement. We usually apply a six-month probationary period.
More about us
The county management's office is responsible for assisting the county management with management support, driving development issues, and cross-agency strategic issues. Today, the office consists of 14 people, of which four are lawyers. The information security coordinator is also placed at the office.
As an employee at the County Administrative Board, you may need to be directed to other tasks within the authority. It is therefore a prerequisite that you as a person are flexible, socially interested, and want to work with the breadth that the County Administrative Board has to offer.
How we recruit

You must be a Swedish citizen as the tasks within the employment are placed in a security class. We will conduct a security review according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). As a permanent employee at the County Administrative Board in Stockholm County, you will be placed in wartime based on the needs of total defense.
