We are looking for someone to work as a systems engineer in our underwater projects. The position offers exciting technical challenges and the opportunity for leadership roles with a broad area of responsibility and a large network, both internally and externally.

Your Role

As a systems engineer within the Underwater Systems business unit, you will work on the development of maritime systems. You will tackle today's challenges, and many projects provide the opportunity to explore upcoming technologies, analyses, and design prototypes for tomorrow's products.

Your role is responsible for ensuring that our products meet the expectations set by our clients regarding the products' capabilities. You will do this by driving the technical work throughout the development process, from requirements analysis through design to verification of the final product. A stimulating part of the job is that as a systems engineer, you often work closely with the products and have access to the hardware where you can test ideas directly. Proximity to the product creates opportunities to work operationally during testing/verification as well as during installation and commissioning at the customer site.

The expectations for you as a systems engineer with us are that you will eventually have enough breadth to understand the entirety of our products but also enough depth to communicate how the system is intended to function. You will navigate across many technical areas and collaborate closely with the company's other disciplines.

Your Profile

You are a graduate engineer or have equivalent knowledge, preferably with several years of experience in systems work. You have experience working with system architecture, requirements breakdown, and a good understanding of the product development process. One of the most important aspects of the position is that you possess a combination of curiosity and initiative, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate easily with others. You must be fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
