The Naval Staff is located in Muskö in the southern archipelago of Stockholm. The Naval Staff leads, plans, executes, and follows up the tasks of the naval units operating along the coast and at sea. About the Security Section
The Naval Staff will grow in the coming years, which means that the tasks of the security section will expand accordingly. The primary task of the security section is to ensure that operations in the Navy and at the Naval Staff are conducted protected against espionage, sabotage, and other crimes that may threaten naval operations.
Main Responsibilities
The Security Officer is placed in the security section at the Naval Staff in Muskö. The tasks mainly consist of administration within the area of security protection and security planning (physical security) and security vetting. This involves varied work such as:
- processing visitor permits
- administration of access cards and service cards
- security vetting and additional administration
- security reporting
- conducting security briefings
- supporting the security manager with internal security checks and follow-ups
As the Naval Staff is growing, you need to be flexible and structured and prepared for change. You see the big picture and understand what needs to be done and take your own initiative. You are unpretentious and appreciate variation in work by mixing administration with development work and everything in between. Your tasks also include three hours of physical training each week.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- 3-year high school education
- very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- good computer skills and good knowledge of MS Office, primarily Word and Excel
- driver's license with category B

Since the work is characterized by tasks with high confidentiality, a very high security awareness is required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
DESIRABLE
- experience in administration within security and public administration such as background checks, visitor administration, service card management, security reporting, and security vetting
- current and relevant experience from authorities
- experience of work covered by the Protection Act
- experience of work covered by the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act
Other
The recruitment process will involve several interviews, tests, etc. Combat training (for civilians) will be conducted at the unit, and other competency training will take place within/outside the Armed Forces.
Employment form: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those who are not already employed by the authority.

Start date: By agreement.

Domestic travel: Occurs in service.
The Armed Forces, Naval Staff has established a bus connection that starts at Central Station in Stockholm with stops along the way to Muskö, back and forth at given times.
The position is classified in a security class, and a background check will be performed.

Leadership for a stronger defense aims to increase robustness, simplify command and obedience relationships, and through decentralization of mandates and responsibilities, increase the conditions for mission tactics.
As part of this work, the Armed Forces have organized a Naval Staff for the leadership of the Naval units. The Naval Staff is established in Muskö in Haninge municipality.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required.
