Responsibilities

In this role, you will have a broad and varied assignment where you will:

• work with budgeting, follow-up, and forecasts together with management
• prepare analyses and decision-making materials that help the organization move forward
• follow up on goals, results, and quality
• contribute to development and improvement work
• support questions related to premises, planning, and resource utilization
• ensure that work is conducted according to applicable rules and guidelines

This is a role for you who want to understand how the entire organization is interconnected – from numbers and plans to employees and results. As a business controller, you are the first point of contact for administrative questions coming from the department. You will therefore handle questions at all levels, which requires a humble approach to the job.

About the Department/Group

As a business controller with us, you will be an important part of the department's daily operations. You will work closely with the head of the department and management, be part of the department's management team, and provide support in both planning and follow-up. At the same time, you are part of the school's management office, where you have colleagues in similar roles to collaborate and exchange experiences with.

Qualifications

You have a background in finance or equivalent experience and feel confident in Excel. You enjoy analyzing, but equally important: you can explain and reason about numbers in a way that others understand.

As a person, you are curious, attentive, and collaborative. You take responsibility for your work, work independently, and have an easy time building trust in your contacts.

You need to be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work.

Requirements

• Relevant university degree in finance (or equivalent experience deemed comparable by the employer)
• At least three years of current work experience as a controller
• Very good Excel skills
• Very high administrative ability
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as this is required in daily work

Desirable

• experience from a university, college, or other large organization
• familiarity with KTH's operations
• work experience in accounting
