Your Role
Do you want to work in a competent team and be part of developing exciting and important products? Saab is at the forefront of technology development, creating advanced defense systems. We now need to expand our team with you who want to make a difference for our common security by developing today’s and tomorrow’s combat aircraft.
We are looking for someone experienced in systems and software work. Here you have the opportunity to be involved in the entire chain from requirements formulation together with customers and pilots, to design and implementation. The systems work aims to develop subsystems that contribute to the aircraft's tactical capability, which is done in close collaboration with adjacent teams. We build the system that manages the mission and supports the pilot in executing it safely and efficiently.
You will be part of one of our agile teams. The teams are self-determining with responsibility for their respective functions. We work with agile methodologies and a mix of proven and modern tools such as CLion, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence. The teams work with implementation in C++. We test-fly functions in simulators and rigs to ensure that the software works when the aircraft is ready to fly and perform missions.
As a systems/software engineer with us, there are great opportunities for development. There is a significant opportunity to broaden your skills. Saab offers a wide range of courses covering everything from software/systems to direct hardware and aviation technology, as well as softer aspects like technical leadership. Career opportunities are good, and internal mobility is encouraged. At Saab, you can work for a long time and still have very varied tasks.
The teams are stable and have good leadership. The culture is characterized by a serious, long-term, and trust-based working method. We have a lot of fun together with coffee breaks, team-building activities, and after-work gatherings.
Your Profile
Your background is a technical university education with experience and interest in systems and software development. We see that you have at least 4 years of experience in systems work and development and have a good knowledge of C++. Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
