We are looking for a team member for our new prevention team.

This role is part of our restructuring and resource strengthening to meet the requirements of the new social services act.

We are currently working on changes to ensure that we can continue to offer good help and support to our citizens. Examples of changes include the introduction of first and second line social services to better handle different types of cases and provide more tailored service. In addition, we are expanding staff groups to strengthen our capacity. We are also working on reducing barriers to make our services more accessible. The role of social worker with us

You will be involved in starting up and developing the preventive work in close collaboration with the team leader, other staff from first line social services, and cross-departmental coordinating efforts in Kungsbacka. Your assignment includes collaboration and thinking holistically from a preventive perspective at both individual and group levels. The target group is children and young people aged 0-20 years.

You will carry out interventions at both individual and group levels. The interventions take place within first line social services and are based on the needs identified, which is why the interventions will largely be carried out in collaboration with other actors such as culture and leisure, schools/preschools, the police, and health care.

Individual-level interventions may involve supportive and advisory conversations and guiding families to, for example, TSI (early coordinating efforts), first line outpatient care, or authoritative social services. Group-level interventions may involve conducting targeted efforts at a school or preschool, attending parent meetings, being present at open preschools, informing about social services in various forums, and attending special events such as schools out, theme days at high schools, theme days related to violence such as orange day, and more.

The prevention team and the role are new to the administration, which means that the content of the job description may change over time, focusing on those we are here for and with an ambition to create a needs-driven first line social service.

Your profile

As a person, you have a humble and unpretentious approach, which means you are interested and curious. You have a good ability to work both independently and in teams, and you find it easy to collaborate. You have a very good ability to collaborate with others and to build and maintain good relationships. Since your assignment is carried out largely in collaboration with others, you need to be comfortable working in the organizational space where collaboration occurs based on our families' needs.

You have an interest in contributing to the development of a more preventive and accessible social work in collaboration, in order to meet parents and young people at an early stage, before problems grow too large. You contribute to creating a positive work environment, are good at adapting your perspective, and seeing opportunities. You are a good communicator who can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, and you are skilled at conveying a message in a pedagogical manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a degree in social work, or another degree at the university level with a focus on social work, behavioral science, or pedagogy
  • a B driver's license
  • good knowledge of authority work concerning children and young people, child development, and areas of social work such as domestic violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience in authority work concerning children and young people
  • experience in support and treatment work with children and young people

Within the administration, we are restructuring and have created a new unit that will take effect on September 15, the Preventive Unit for Children and Young People. The unit consists of three groups: the prevention team, the reception group for children and young people, and the outpatient group for children and young people. The unit is part of first line social services for children and young people and is led by a unit manager. It is a new way of working aimed at supporting the municipality's children and families in a more coordinated and effective manner at an earlier stage. The unit offers good collegial support and a welcoming climate where we collaborate and help each other.

It takes only 20 minutes by train from Gothenburg, and the city hall is located in Kungsbacka, opposite the central station. Working hours are spent both in the city hall and in our premises at Nygatan 17 in central Kungsbacka.

The work may involve needs-driven working hours outside of office hours.

The role is under development, which means that the position will evolve as methods and working practices emerge. Therefore, you need to find it inspiring to be in a developing role.

Before an offer of employment, an acceptable extract from the police's criminal record must be presented.
