JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Social Counselor at an HVB home involves meeting and supporting young people in their practical needs in daily work, as well as preparing them for a more independent life in their own accommodation or transition housing. You guide the youth in their daily lives from an integration perspective and encourage active leisure time and successful schooling. The work may involve providing advice and support regarding shopping and cooking, laundry, personal hygiene, cleaning, and household economics.

You are also responsible for daily rounds, maintenance, and supervision of the accommodation to ensure that the residents are home, that they are well, and to ensure the environment of the accommodation for both youth and staff. You are also responsible for record-keeping and documentation according to BBIC.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues, and you will receive support in your daily work from the operations manager and through regular supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work or another higher education that the employer deems equivalent. You who are currently studying Social Work are also welcome to apply and may be considered for employment. You should have good knowledge of applicable legislation and experience working with youth. Experience from or good knowledge of municipal operations and work in HVB homes is an advantage.

You have a good ability to collaborate, both internally and externally. You have a good ability to meet people and see the individual from a holistic perspective. You are expected to work independently and in a group. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A driving license (B) is a requirement.
