The role of the relative consultant with us

As a relative consultant, you will both provide and arrange various forms of support for relatives living in Kungsbacka municipality, whose loved ones suffer from mental illness, neuropsychiatric difficulties, or disabilities.

You will, for example, offer individual conversations focusing on relief, sorting out the situation, and help with coping strategies, and arrange various supportive forums such as circles, theme meetings, or lectures. In addition, you will also, to some extent, support and increase the competence and understanding of relative support within the administration. An important part of the job is to guide the target group to the right instances, both within the municipality's operations and other stakeholders, as well as support functions within civil society.

You will work with a varied target group, which may include parents of children with autism, parents of adults with mental disabilities, siblings of people with disabilities, and more. In your work, you will have close contact with collaboration partners outside the administration, as circles and lectures often take place in collaboration with other actors. The position includes staying updated on research and findings related to support for relatives and highlighting the relative perspective within your own administration. You will be part of a regional network for relative support, and there is an opportunity to engage in the national network for municipal relative support as well.

Your profile

You have a strong ability to take initiative combined with high social competence and a pronounced ability to collaborate with both colleagues and external actors. The role also involves a significant amount of independent work, which places high demands on good structure, accountability, and the ability to drive cases forward effectively and professionally. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

is a social worker or has another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
has good knowledge of the living conditions in society for people with disabilities and their relatives, as well as the forms of support that society offers.
has current knowledge of relevant legislation such as SoL, LSS, OSL, HSL, and experience with SIP.
has a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
has experience with documentation.
has experience with supportive conversations.
has experience in planning and conducting group activities.

It is an advantage if you have:

experience in providing crisis support, training in low-affect responses, MI.

Our offer and additional information

We offer a permanent full-time position starting May 1 or by agreement.

Evening work may occur.
