The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Bup) within Region Skåne consists of regional outpatient care, regional inpatient care, and a special team. Our psychiatric outpatient care works with the target group of children and adolescents with severe to moderate mental health issues. Our area Bup Lund provides specialist psychiatry within outpatient care and has over 100 employees. Children and adolescents up to 18 years old come to us along with their families. Our catchment area consists of eight municipalities. Within our operations, there is also Bup's educational reception for students, which is run in close collaboration with Lund University. At our clinics, assessments, investigations, and treatments of children and adolescents are carried out, and our work includes both family and network.

The Eslöv Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic primarily works with residents in Eslöv, Höör, and Hörby. The clinic employs nurses, doctors, secretaries, psychologists, and social workers working together. Our operations are characterized by a broad child and adolescent psychiatric competence with a strong focus on developmental issues and interdisciplinary collaboration, where we have close cooperation between different professional groups. Within Region Skåne, Bup is an accredited university hospital unit. This means that we have a close collaboration with the medical faculty at Lund University regarding both research and education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A day as a nurse with us means meeting children and their parents and monitoring and following up on the medication prescribed by the doctors, focusing on ADHD treatment. We hold conversations with both children and parents about routines in daily life, food, sleep, and how things are going at school and in their free time. Our conversations with patients are characterized by a close and engaged contact, where we focus on identifying and meeting their unique needs in everyday life. This often leads to positive and rewarding meetings that give the patient a sense of security and good support in their daily life. In your role as a nurse, you also have close cooperation with schools and social services. In this collaboration, we are an instance that often calls for meetings regarding coordinated individual plans (SIP) with other operations within Bup, child habilitation, and school.

We work interdisciplinary at our unit, and one of our greatest strengths is our colleagues. We have an open work environment that is a fundamental prerequisite for us to exchange knowledge and discuss problems and various solutions. In addition to your other duties, you are responsible for planning and organizing your own work effectively, which includes scheduling patient visits and creating a clear structure for your workday.

- My job is really fun, and the contact with the patients is the core of this. To a large extent, we work repeatedly with our patients, and we see the effects of our efforts, how it impacts the children's and families' life situations. The youngest patients are six years old when they come for their first visit, and we can often follow them for several years. The continuity in our work also gives us the opportunity to dive deep into specific problems or situations our patients face in everyday life; sometimes you feel a bit like a detective, says nurse Veronica.

The position is a temporary contract for 6 months.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. If you have specialist training in child and adolescent medicine or psychiatry, or other relevant specialist competence for the position, this is an advantage. We would also like you to have previous experience working in child psychiatry and/or other work with children and adolescents. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have knowledge of Melior.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a skilled listener and have the ability to understand others' perspectives. Additionally, you enjoy working independently and take responsibility for planning and organizing your work. We are looking for someone who is confident and calm in their role and has a professional approach towards families and other partners. Your ability to understand and manage complex situations, as well as to prioritize and handle your work effectively, are also important qualities that we value. Personal suitability is highly emphasized.
